JA VOLUNTEERS of the MONTH -- JUNE
John Carvalho,
President of Apollo Safety, Inc. in Fall River, recently completed the JA-NEFE High School Financial Planning course at Durfee High School, and his 4th annual JA Ironman Golf Championship. Whether in the classroom or on the golf course, John knows all about the ‘green’ that keeps JA going! An all-around community guy, John also serves on the board of other organizations, such as Deacons Home for Girls and New England Family Wellness Foundation. Definitely a go-getter who gives back, John’s teaching JA to area students not only empowers them with tools they need for success in their own future careers, but encourages them to get up to par with a great role model as well! Thank you, John, for being the kind of volunteer who says, “Send me where needed!” Congratulations on being a Volunteer of the Month!
Kristine Christo
is a Senior Regulatory Specialist with DePuy Mitek in Raynham. New to JA last spring, she loves working with the youngest Junior Achievers, much to the delight of first grade teachers at Raynham’s Merrill Elementary. Besides bringing them the much needed financial basics of recognizing needs from wants that prepare the way for spending savvy later in life, she brings in lots of show-and-tell products from her work and the kids just love it! Kristine, who coaches basketball and softball in her community, is definitely on the ball with JA as well -- She is on a mission to recruit others to present the programs! Kristine, congratulations on being a Volunteer of the Month! Thanks for your enthusiastic efforts on behalf of JA kids!
